Decent neighborhood to buy a house

Couple in early 30s, with a collective salary of $320k, currently stay in Humble. We want to stay closer to the city. Looking for suggestions for good neighborhoods. Our budget is ~$800k.

We both work around downtown (east) and deer park so looking for a subdivision which won’t be an hour drive or more for either of us :/

If my budget was higher, I would have bought a house in Houston Heights but all good houses are over million dollars 😏
