Diamond Tickets Worth It for Tourist?
I'm coming to Houston for business for two weeks in September. I have a three day block of freetime from Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd
I expect to be back multiple times over the next few years (new job), and most collegues have told me to avoid Houston and instead visit Austin and the like in the weekend downtime. But hey, I don't want to judge the city yet without seeing it, so said I'd spend this first visit in the city then branch out for future visits. So likely only time I'll have to watch the Astros.
Looking at Astro's tickets for the Friday night game against LA Angels, done some reading around, and seems to be a once in a lifetime experience in the Diamond Club. I can see tickets on SeatGeek, but they are $600 each – know the come up rarely, but are they worth it?
I'm Scottish, early 30s, Moneyball is my only experience of baseball, so I know f-all – but will also be there solo so thought at least in a club I'll be able to eat loads of food and maybe chat to people inside the lounge.
Considering waiting till nearer the time to see if they get cheaper but I know they are quite rare to appear at all.
TLDR: As a solo tourist I can get Diamond tickets for $600 but are they worth it?
