Can someone please post screenshots of the centerpoint map (+rant)
I am sitting with what’s left of my tank of gas in my driveway charging my phone. Have only seen a blank centerpoint website since midnight two days ago. We are by the med center and I don’t understand how we could have been anywhere close to the major destruction. None of our lines were down in the surrounding area. Haven’t seen a single utility truck in the area. We had just gone to Kroger and lost $250 worth of groceries, we don’t have access to a generator, and we have temperature sensitive medications that are struggling to take in our bodies bc we can’t cool down. I work online, but I can’t use my laptop in a public space. And PSA to the people in this sub that are probably out of touch with what living in true financial desperation everyday feels like: the level of infrastructural unpreparedness this city is willing to accept is disturbing. So much of what these ever increasing events highlight is that upper middle class and certainly those above get to purchase their way out of misery and act like personal responsibility is the most noble or functional way to mitigate natural disasters and not public/private investment on a grand and comprehensive scale. You can roll your eyes at me but the gulf is on borrowed time looking at the next 50 years and beyond. Are we really going to pussyfoot around climate infrastructure until we have to abandon our communities, homes, culture, and history? So sick of the political cowardice in this state.
