Need to get rid of ammo

Hi y'all. I found some ammo, some rifle and some shotgun, in my garage that I'd like to get rid of but am not sure where to bring it. I saw a post here from a month ago where someone said the HPD bomb squad will take it but I'm a bit nervous about that. Are there any other options for me legally get rid of it besides bringing it to the police?
