Moves we should have made: Hopkins – $27.5mil Reader – $13.25mil Hyde $5mil (what he wanted) 1mil (what he signed for) Don’t cut Gipson

Total – $45.75

We could have afforded to keep Hop, never would have needed to go get Cooks and sign Cobb. We could have payed Hyde the extra mil he wanted and never would have to go after Johnson. Never should have extended Merc, he should be replaced by Martin already and that money should have gone to Reader. Then you still have about $5mil left over to go sign Eric Murray if you really wanted him that bad and now Gip is our third safety and TE cover when Lonnie has to play outside. We can then use our second round pick on drafting another corner or a running back or OL depth to replace Fulton instead of drafting Blacklock out of need to replace Reader.

Not to mention if you bring the team back from last year minus Merc we would be looking a lot more in sync right now!
