Manufacturing Job Opportunities?

29M up in CT, currently looking at warm coastal cities to move to and get out of the insane cost of living, awful weather new england area. How are the MFG jobs in the Houston area? I have 8 year of aerospace vendor mangement/procurement experience, plus my BA in business admin. My girlfriend is also a medical assistant, and would likely move down in a year or so wherever I end up.

Rent alone looks significantly more affordable than here, although I hear the housing market is still hot. But CTs market is absolutely insane, so I swear it cannot be worse.
