Downtown Houston Food and Drink Recs

My wife is going to a conference and I am tagging along next month in Houston. We have never stayed in Houston. We love great food, local fare is the best. We also love breweries. What are some of your recs for food and drink not too far from downtown? We are staying at the Marriott Marquis. Thanks!
