New here & we want our teens to like Houston. Where should we take them for fun?

They’ll be here visiting us for one week, as they’re still in school back east. We want them to consider living near us for college & post grad, so we’d like to show them a good time. Is there lake life nearby? Hiking? Our home state is very pretty and so far, Houston is …not so much. ( Don’t get me wrong, there’s much to like here – weather, food, shopping, friendly people. But the kids will want to do cool stuff).
