Apartment front door – is this a code violation?

Hi. Recently moved into a multi-unit apartment. One of those big houses that’s been converted into a small amount of apartments. I moved from a distance, so could not see the apartment in person, so I did a video tour.

What I did not notice is that the front door (which opens into a shared hallway) to my apartment is a hollow interior door. Doesn’t even have a deadbolt, just a handle. However, the door in the hallway that leads to the outside is an exterior door with a deadbolt and such.

I can’t seem to figure out if this is a code violation or not. Would anyone happen to know? Houston housing code seems to be vague about what an exterior door/means of egress door is.

I feel very unsafe with a door like this. Not to mention I basically have zero sound privacy.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
