What’s digging these dang holes?

Hi y’all, today I walked out in my backyard and saw these holes and a couple other that appeared basically overnight.

They are only in one general area of the backyard and not all of it. They aren’t next to eachother directly like a tunnel and they vary in depth with that first picture being the deepest one.

Do we think these are squirrels or is it something else? Just wondering as this has never happened to me in the over 10 years I’ve been living here!
