Is there actually any way to remove Mike Miles as the interim superintendent?

Just a question I was curious about especially regarding the "legality" of his position as it was not democratically elected. Is Greg Abbott the only one who could remove him from that position? Or the school board? Where could I find the rules or regulations for that process? Thanks!
