Perception on Tomball/Is it comparable to Katy or Cypress?

My husband, doggy and I will be moving to TX very soon and we’re mostly looking in Katy and Cypress for our next home. Just curious about what the local perception of Tomball is. I know it’s a bit north of Katy and Cypress but the schools seem pretty solid in terms of ratings and homes are pretty comparable to Katy and Cypress in terms of size and cost. No kids yet but we’re planning to adopt very soon after the move (we’re both dudes-do you think Tomball would be generally be accepting towards this). Katy is probably our number one option and then Cypress but if anyone local has any insight on how Tomball compares to Katy, it would be much appreciated, thanks!
