Downtown Houston Living?

Like the title says, (QUESTION) how's downtown Houston to live in?

I 40M professional, no kids, 1 dog, and self employed.

Is it walkable? Is it safe? What neighborhoods/communities are recommended?

Are there close proximity to Parks, nature trails, dog parks etc? (I run with my dog)

Are there grocers (bodegas, convenience stores, healthy markets) or delivery services?
