Heat in early March a sign for an even more brutal summer than last year’s?

I was told time and time again that last years summer was an aberration and it wont be that hot in the next several years. Well, its March and the temps are reaching mid to high 80's, and I wanted to know if this was a sign that this summer is going to be more brutal than last summer.

Not sure is El Nino has anything to do with it or whether this March is the aberration. Perhaps someone more in tune with the weather and climate patterns can enlighten me.
