Rodeo Carnival Question

Took my kids to the rodeo yesterday. Everyone had fun. We were there from opening till 2:00pm.

Am I crazy though, because it seems like they increase the # of tickets required to play the games and rides at the carnival depending on how busy the carnival is.

At opening it seems that you could play for 6-7 tickets and by 2 it was 12 tickets for most games.
