Houston billionaire’s restaurant co. completes purchase of remaining Houlihan’s locations

Houston-based Landry’s Inc. — led by Houston billionaire Tilman Fertitta — has closed on its latest restaurant acquisition.

HRI Holding Corp., the parent company of Leawood, Kansas-based Houlihan’s Restaurants Inc., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November, citing issues such as industry headwinds, senior management changes and unfavorable leases. Landry’s was the sole bidder for the assets of HRI.
