Drive Thru Safari

I had to pull this memory from the vault. In the early 2000's I remember driving down sorters road in porter and there was a worn-out sign that said, "drive thru safari". I know now that it's just a construction company that owns it, but does anyone know anything about the safari? What was it like and when was it around? Like I said, early 2000's it had already been abandoned for some time. The fences were tall so you could never get a look inside. All you could see was the faded sign that had a giraffe on it. I'd love pictures or any stories you can tell about it!
