Flood insurance has more than doubled?

Anyone else? Yet again, something else out of our control skyrocketing. I've had it with this economy. I've been in my home for 3 years now, and I've paid about 400-500$ for flood insurance. My home is in zone X, but because some of neighborhood is in zone AE, my mortgage company requires I have flood insurance. However, the premiums I'm getting quoted for this year, are absurd. Ranging from 1100-1300 dollars. I'm almost frustrated to tears, because along with home owners going up, car insurance, and everything else, this is just getting out of hand. How are people doing it…truly. They are pricing working class people out of their homes. That said, does anyone recommend a company for flood insurance that I can try getting a quote from?
