2020 SEASON KICKOFF WEEK – Some Reminders + Gameday AMA with Drew Dougherty
Howdy /r/Texans!
Somehow, some way… the NFL 2020 Season kicks off 48 hours from now – with our Houston Texans taking on the reigning Super Bowl champs on their turf.
A couple things to look forward to this week to participate:
Ask Me Anything with Drew Dougherty!
Following Part 1 (Available Here), Texans TV Host Drew Dougherty will be returning for a Gameday AMA, Thursday morning!
Come with your questions ready to fire away for this AMA, which will go up Thursday morning to populate questions, and officially kick off with Drew at 11AM Central
Gameday Threads
- Pre-Game Thread: This will be posted early in the day – come chat about Thursday Night before hand with our sub. Predictions/worries/hopes – air it all out
- Game Thread: About an hour before Gametime, we'll put up the gamethread and get things cooking for the Texans first action in the 2020 season.
- Post-Game Thread: Come overreact with everyone else directly following the results of the game!
While we gear up towards a lot more activity in this sub and all other NFL ones, we are excited to get this place humming again. It also does warrant a general reminder on a few topics:
Reminders
- In the words of Bill and Ted: "Be Excellent to Each Other" – and not just to our fellow /r/Texans members, but to opponents as well. Please don't brigade other subs, harass other users, or treat anyone with disrespect.
- Report, report, report! If you see comments/posts/whatever that shouldn't be being made, use that report button so our mod team can get to it quickly. We'll of course actively be scanning the sub as always, but reporting something puts it in our direct checklist as opposed to attempting to scan through tons of content and comments.
- Opinions vary – aim to discuss, not dismiss: There are a large variety of personalities on this sub (and across the internet). There will be people more optimistic than you, more pessimistic than you, and more or less informed than you. That's fully okay, and telling someone their opinion sucks, or anything similar, is just not productive. If unsure, go back to Reminder #1!
- Enjoy Football. It's been a while, and we truly didn't know if this was going to happen. Enjoy it, and let's watch this team make some magic.
