Apr 8th Solar Eclipse

Planning to fly to Houston on April 6th to see the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th. Dallas and Austin flights are all sold out.

Looking at the map, Killeen, TX sounds like a good place to view the eclipse. Again hotels are all sold out, I found something in Rockdale, TX for the night of 7th.

I am mainly concerned about the drive from Houston to Rockdale and then onto Killeen area. Apart from traffic, are there any other issues to watch out for?
