Customs and security waits

Hello from Alberta Canada.

Im sure this question has been asked before so i apologize for that. But I could only find old posts.

So im flying from Costa Rica to IAH then to Denver then to Edmonton (Canada). I’m going to use the Cbp passport app to enter the US , does it cut down on customs wait times? Then I have to go through security again , also wondering what the wait times are? to catch my flight to Denver.

Does anyone know how this experience should be I land at 5:30am? Thanks
