Old Hobbit Hole Cafe S. Shepard

Went to the current Hobbit Cafe on Richmond this weekend. Anyone have more information on the original store? I want to know more about the original owners -I think there were 3- 2 of them broke off and somehow were affiliated with Whole Foods in Austin. How are they affiliated?
