New construction home inspection quote

Hello! We are building a home with Taylor Morrison in the greater Houston area and have been trying to find a good home inspector. Most of the quotes we received for a 3-phase inspection plus 11 month warranty inspection ended up totaling under $1500. However, a very experienced inspector who has been in the business for years and who was personally recommended to us is charging over $3,000 for those same services. He said he is also a code inspector with ICC and takes 3-5 hours for every inspection. I have contacted 5+ inspectors with good google reviews and haven't found any that come even close to what he's charging. My question is, is his experience and personal reference worth the cost or should we take the chance with someone else with good reviews and a competitive price?
