On Slowik and the hiring process

I would like the record to state I’m not angry. I’m just dumbfounded at what happened this past week.

Our freaking offensive coordinator hours before the biggest game of the season, hell the biggest game in 5 years for us—-was interviewing for other NFL teams. One of the most important pieces to our team success on Saturday wasn’t (pretty much lied about being) totally focused on beating Baltimore and making it to a Super Bowl. Because there’s no way you can be “totally focused” on beating the Ravens while preparing for those interviews. Those mf’ers were prepping for us before the 1st quarter in the Pit-Buf game even ended.

Does this not seem absolutely batshit crazy to anyone else? What is the point of making it this far into the playoffs and making a deep run if guys can search around for other jobs at the most critical moment of the season? It doesn’t matter where we were to start the year and how we exceeded expectations. It doesn’t matter if we were shorthanded going into Baltimore.

Slowik’s coaching skills aside, the whole hiring process is absurd. There has to be a change in when coaches can interview for positions with other teams or some type of compensation if we were to lose our OC.
