Cat Bite Incident at Home

Anyone have any experience with cat bites and potential removal of the pet from the home? Our cat and dog got into it last night. My wife was bitten by the cat when she tried to separate them. Her hand is swollen and she can’t bend it this morning. Both pets have had all their vaccines. We’ve read that when she goes to the doctor they may send animal control to the house to potentially quarantine the cat. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks!
