Houstonians with not-active parents in their 50s/60s. What do you do with your parents for fun?
My husband and I visit my in-laws once a week – after dinner, from 6PM to 10PM. They live in Spring.
My in-laws don't do much during the week so there's not too much conversation happening when we visit and we usually just end up sitting there on our phones. My husband can't stand the boredom and is trying to get us to do activities together. They're not super active, don't drink and my MIL doesn't speak English so there are some barriers (like we can't play a lot of board games or watch movies/tv shows together).
We want something that older people would enjoy. He asked me to help him think of suggestions. I'm open to activities that we can do at home or we can go out and enjoy. I'm even open to board games that would be easy to explain to my MIL that don't require language skills!
