How bad is my commute?

Moved to Houston back in July of last year. Don’t have that much of experience when it comes to freezing temperatures here. Everyone is freaking out about the temperature but moving from Chicago I’ve experienced much lower temps.

I commute daily to Livingston for work taking 99 North from Cypress. How bad is my morning and evening commute going to be? I’ve heard horror stories but still can’t comprehend why would it be that bad.
