Looking to rent an apartment/buy a house in the Dairy Ashford part of Alief.. how safe is it in that Area?

Im aware of Alief’s reputation as a high-crime area, but it has clearly calmed down. I don’t have kids, so Im just looking for a place close to work and safe. I also have a lot of family near the DairyAshford Bellaire intersection so that’s also why. They’ve only been robbed once or twice and that’s about it. But I wanna hear y’all’s input and thoughts on that area before making a decision.
