Is it better to fly or drive to New Orleans?

Hi everyone, I'm planning on visiting New Orleans in 2 weeks or so. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for either driving or flying there. If I did drive, it would be with a rental vehicle.

Flights from Spirit (likely $120 if I pack light). Or around $300 from United Airlines.

The drive is long and for a few days might not be worth it. Also in NOLA I read that parking can be very expensive, so that would eat away at the savings.

If I do fly, is it worth taking Spirit or just bite the bullet and pay for for another airline?
