Places for tourists to eat in Houston?

I have some family friends visiting Houston, and they wanted to go to the Hard Rock Cafe, which is evidently closed. I’m saying this so you guys know their vibe. They really like Friday’s-style American food and restaurants with really fun cocktails. They’re not really interested in a authentic vibe or experience. Any recommendations?
