New to Houston & Looking for friends/cool places to visit

Hi, M25 here and I’ve been living in Houston for the past few months and I’ve found it really hard to meet people my age and form good friendships. What should I do? And are there any good NYE parties to attend? If anyone’s interested in forming friendships my DMs are open. I live near the Galleria area.
