Homophobic dog whistle from Cynthia Reyes Revilla (District H candidate) campaign text

Hello all! Friendly reminder that Houston’s early voting for the run off election is now through Dec 5 and Election Day is Dec 9.

With that being said, I wanted to share this alarming text I received from Cynthia Reyes Revilla’s (candidate running for District H) campaign.

Beyond the blatant misinformation in the graphic—Secular Houston isn't an atheist organization— our nation was built on separation of church and state. To criticize someone for their faith based on misinformation is absolutely a play from the MAGA playbook. Additionally, her bigoted tactics run deep. In 2019 she attacked a LGBTQ+ opponent (then denied it) and seems to be pulling that strategy out once again. To be putting such clearly bigoted messaging and strategies out there in 2023, in the most diverse city in the state, is beyond alarming. Her dog whistle is loud.

Additionally, she has violated campaign finance, ethics, and anti-corruption laws. Again this is wildly alarming to have someone with this extreme lack of integrity in a run off election. Not to mention, this is her third time running. The people have spoken already.

This is my long winded plea for District H to do their research and vote for the candidate that has integrity, intelligence, and is kind.
