Year in Review: Baytex Energy buying Ranger Oil Corp. for more than $2B was a Deal of the Week

Canada-based Baytex Energy Corp. (NYSE: BTE) completed its acquisition of Houston-based upstream oil and gas company Ranger Oil Corp. on June 20. Including the assumption of net debt, Baytex paid approximately $2.2 billion in cash and stock, down from the transaction’s estimated value of $2.5 billion when the deal was announced.
