Is A Christmas Carol good again??

I've been doing some searching and I keep finding conflicting stories. I've been going to see this show almost every Christmas season with my family since I was a little kid. We missed a couple years since Covid happened and all that, and now I'm hearing that there's a new version of the show that's much shorter and… not nearly as good.

I've also now heard that version of the show is gone, and we've got basically the original again, plus some changes? I know it just barely opened again this weekend, but has anybody gone? Has it regained its original glory? Or will my family and I have to give up the ole' tradition and look for something new to do?
