New fan here, ready for my next obsession. What do I need to know to be a great Houston Texans fan?

Hey r/Texans!

Quick back story: I’ve lived in the MidWest for most of my life, but was born in Houston. I didn’t really care about the NFL until about 6 years ago when I started rooting for the Chicago Bears—a team I inherited from my family who are all from the area. Since then, I’ve nose dived into an NFL and Bears obsession, learning everything I can about the game and the team.

But since about 2020, the Bears haven’t really scratched my itch, mainly proving that they can’t develop a competitive QB. I’ll never fully give up my Bears fandom because of what they mean to my family, but this season, I knew I was going to branch out and start looking for “my” next team to root for.

After seeing a great draft, a new exciting coaching staff, and amazing play from a rookie QB, I’ve landed on my next team: my hometown Houston Texans 😎

So friends, I’m ready for my next NFL obsession. What all do I need to learn about the franchise to become its next super fan?
