Skate Park removed by Barker-Clodine Rd. Why?

What happened to the skate park near Katy next to Katy Fwy and Barker-Clodine Rd??? That was a great thing for the area and they replaced it with a basketball court that no one uses.

Why was it removed? Who made that stupid decision?
