I need to pass through Houston on my drive from AZ to NOLA… where’s the best/safest place to nap in my car?

I'm staying in San Antonio over night but then from there back to NOLA is too far of a hike I think so I figure I need to stop in Houston to rest/gas up/eat with my dog before taking off again. Trying not to stay overnight again, just wanna get home.

I'm seeing that Beaumont and Lafayette can be pretty intense for queer/POC people so I am 100% trying to avoid driving through or stopping in those regions at night.

So: where is the best place in Houston where I can sleep in my car for an hour or two without getting hassled? Walmarts?
