Houston Southeast DPS voter registration warning!

I'm a new Texas resident and registered to vote when I applied for my driver's license at the Houston Southeast DPS on September 15th. Easy, simple, great. Got my license in the mail quickly.

I realized earlier this week that it had been over a month and I hadn't received my voter ID. I also wasn't registered in the portal. Not great.

I called the Harris County tax collector's office on Thursday and they also couldn't find anything, so they filed a DPS inquiry.

Somehow my voter registration had gotten lost in the system and miraculously rediscovered after the inquiry was filed. I'm now officially registered to vote.

tl;dr if you registered to vote this fall anywhere, but especially at the Houston Southeast DPS, I'd recommend checking to see that you were actually registered ASAP
