For those still doubting Stroud’s greatness
There's been a lot of chatter about C.J. Stroud's skill as a quarterback and the records he's setting. Now, if you're an old timer Texans stan like me, you've been spoiled with great QBs for years: names like Tom "Not the guy from Mythbusters" Savage, David " Not Derek" Carr, and Deshaun "Not technically convicted" Watson are all names of some of the starting quarterbacks of all time, and all of them graced NRG.
Of all these men, Super Bowl champion, lobster, and Texans legend Brock Osweiler stands tallest (by several inches). He had a creative style that frequently involved opposing defensive backs in the offense, led the Texans to victory in the hotly contested AFC South in 2016, and even threw for over 100 yards on a mere 40 attempts against the Patriots in the divisional series, equaling the number of digits in eventual champion Tom Brady's total!
When analyzing Osweiler's results, we can see that even a protege of Peyton Manning never even reached 100 attempts without a pick; in fact, Brock only ever threw 90 attempts in a row without a pick. If these numbers are anything to go by, Stroud is more than double the QB that Brock was. Indeed, about 2.06666667 AFC South titles should be in our future. Note though that Osweiler's success came under Bill O'Brien, a protege of Bill Belichick known for masterful play calling and post game analysis, so we can't expect Stroud to have the same level of success, but not everybody can be a lobster. We can represent this by rounding down to an even 2. The future is bright, H-Town!
