After the Astros game tonight join me from 7-10 for the Ghost Bike Donation Drive Wrap-Up Party at Gristworkz If you’ve ever driven around town and seen a bike painted white, that’s a Ghost Bike. It marks the spot where someone was seriously injured or someone’s life was lost due to a tragic cycling accident. Unfortunately, we are coming up on a year next week where we lost our awesome Shane to a tragic cycling accident last October. There is an amazing lil 4 yr old missing his daddy, there’s Shane’s mom and dad, his brothers(one of whom is my bestie) and countless friends and family that miss him so very badly. He was 46. The person that hit him drove off and has never been caught so that jerk is out there somewhere. Pride Bike Ride Houston is working with Houston Ghost Bike to collect donations needed so that they can continue to honor cyclists that have been injured or passed away from car related accidents, poor street conditions and crime related incidents against cyclists. Houston Ghost Bike holds a very special place in my heart. They help families like mine by placing bike memorials throughout the city to honor fallen cyclists. Please help us by dropping off any of the needed items to Gristworkz before Saturday, 10/7 where we will have a wrap party to celebrate the efforts of Houston Ghost Bike and to honor our fellow cyclists.
