I know this is an unusual question/request but, are there any paranormal investigators/ghost hunters in Houston that are on this subreddit?

My parents used to be paranormal investigators almost 20 years ago. I'm skeptical and I'm an atheist but I'm very open minded and interested in paranormal activity. I was too young at the time to really participate in their investigations, but I'm 32 now and would love a chance to get back out there and use some of the newer devices and methods that have come out in the last 20 years.

The issue is that after a pretty rough few years, I don't really have a social life anymore. I don't know who I would ask to go with me, and I don't know anyone with a haunted house, business, or location that would let me sort of experiment with investigating even if I did have the equipment.

I guess I'm hoping there are groups in the area that might be open to meeting with me (to determine if I'm a good fit or a creep or whatever) and might let me tag along on one or more investigations just to kind of get my feet wet again so to speak and feel out if I'm ready to try to get involved in the scene on a more serious/frequent basis. As an adult I really haven't had the opportunity to do it.

I know this subject might be weird or laughable to some. I'm a skeptic in the sense that I believe a lot of what people might jump to call paranormal might have more mundane explanations, and most of the interesting paranormal content online is either plainly faked, easily explained, or impossible to really buy into without having been there myself. But I really want to believe, and I do think there are things going on that are not yet explained by the scientific community that I have always had an unquenched curiosity to learn more about and experience for myself. I hope this post might guide me towards someone or some people that can let me tag along to assist however I'm able and gain some more insight into my interest.
