Jugging Robberies in H-Town – Houston, we have a problem

The jugging robberies that keep happening here seem to be done mainly by gangs. The way they operate, the kinds of vehicles they use & other things are pretty much identical.

I was a victim last year, went thru all kinds of aggravation dealing with law enforcement, victim's services & the rest. I had to research everything on my own.

Anyone who's been a victim, is afraid of becoming one or lives in an area where gangs are prevalent needs to know who to contact about this, and who can't be bothered for a silly little concern like our safety. Here's the list, grouped by activity status:

KINDA WORKING

HPD Neighborhood Protection Corps: 832 394-0600. Now City of Houston’s Dept Of Neighborhoods & no longer affiliated with HPD. Still listed on their website though.

HPD Gang Unit: 832 394-0970 – This works, but according to their receptionist officers are always “in the field”, have no set schedule and may or may not return phone calls.

Harris County Sheriff's Office Non-Emergency: (713) 221-6000 – this works and will direct everyone to HPD’s Narcotics at 713-466-3673, which is also working. You can’t report violent stuff like Granny being assaulted & robbed of her last $2.00, but if you know anything about high dollar narcotics stuff that will make officials look good, that’s the one to call. After all, what’s more important, right?
