Upcoming 288 Shitshow
https://drive288.com/sims-bayou-project/
The Northbound Orem onramp is going to be closed from Friday 9/15 until 11/20 (at least that's what's posted right now).
I reached out to 311 to ask them to PLEASE PLEASE put in temporary stop signs to make City Park Way and Almeda Genoa a 4-Way stop so there's SOME possibility of an alternate way out of that neighborhood (we'll see if that gets any traction.. doubt it)…
I don't have high hopes because they can't even paint the damn lines right at Almeda-Genoa/288 — as you go westbound there's three lanes — the left lane is turn only, but there's 3 lanes after the light — left is mostly to get on a secondary feeder, and make a turn for the road…. so explain why of the three lanes the far RIGHT lane is the one that ends/merges….
Paint the lines right, make the "useless lane" end, and let the two "through" lanes proceed through without merges…
Safety punkin… safety…
They JUST did construction through that intersection annnnnd… yeah.. the lines still are set up to have an unnecessary merge that serves no good purpose except to piss people off.
Guess logic's too much to ask for in traffic management.
