Tips for my visit

Hey all, wondering if anybody has any tips for me. Am travelling from New Zealand to Houston and arriving next Saturday. Staying for 2 weeks. I’ve been keeping an eye on the weather and it does seeming to slowly be cooling, but I’m stressed as my daily temps recently have been 25-50, so the heat is going to be a lot. Any tips for surviving??
