How is Houston for a single guy?

Hello folks,

I will move to Houston at the end of the year for work.

I'm late twenties, single and French and know no one in Texas. The job opportunity is good enough for me to offset my worries about the weather (for the moment lol, never been there), but I still have no clue on what is life in this part of the country.

I'm first wondering how to meet people. I understand (and especially this year) that due to the temperatures, you stay inside most of the day during a good chunk of the year, which – I suppose- can limit opportunities to meet new people.

What would be your one green flag about the city? Especially if you are a transplant!
