Renting an apartment for a school zone

Ran across a couple threads on this but figured I’d ask about my particular situation. Kids are starting school and we just got rezoned (not redistricted) to a not so great elementary school. The original, better, elementary school is actually closer to our house. Anyway, I’m considering renting an apartment in the better zone just to get the kids started in the better elementary. Again, I’m already paying my taxes into the district, just changing zones. Just curious if anyone has experience with this.
