Next year we will have too much starting pitching
Next year when everyone is healthy(hopefully) we will have 10 options for starting pitching and I’ll rank them from best to worst imo. 1. Valdez 2. Verlander 3. McCullers(injured) 4. France 5. Javier 6. Brown 7. Garcia(injured) 8. Urquidy 9. Blanco 10. Bielak
My rankings aren’t important, but we will have a lot of starting pitching next season and I doubt we’re going to have a 10 man rotation. Given this we will have to cut 3-4 people out of the rotation. That’s a debate topic in and of itself.
What I’m suggesting is that maybe we trade one or two starters next year. If we have this much starting pitching we might want to trade some of it for bullpen help or for cash considerations for tucker or for a third baseman if Bregman asks for too much.
This year has taught us that depth is important, but we should be able to trade one or two and maintain our depth.
What do y’all think? Trade candidates? What for them? Should we trade at all?
