PSA: It’s too hot to leave your dog (or your kid) in the car

Two days in a row I have had to go into PetSmart or call 911 because someone left their small dog in the car, turned off, alone. It is 100 degrees outside. It is Houston and it is July. I do not care if it is 6pm, or the sun’s not on your car, or whatever. Five minutes or however long is too long. Your dog cannot cool down like you can. It can cause brain damage. It can kill your dog. When it is 95 degrees outside, your car can heat to 114 degrees in ten minutes. If you care more about your car getting stolen than your dog overheating such that you can’t leave the car running with some AC, leave your dog at home. Don’t be a piece of s**t pet parent.
