Men’s haircuts/buzzcuts + beard trim/line. What’s the going rate?

I have a simple haircut – 1 fade, blend and line the beard.

I go to cutthroat now and i've watched my barber's prices go from $40 for the combo to $70. I tip $10 for my haircuts so $80 bones (imo) is absurd for a buzzcut+beard trim.

Especially considering I can forget the fade and just 1 buzz myself and I can manage my beard.

I could go to some of the newer barbers in the shop that are charging $40 but it just seems awkward with my original barber being there.

Is $40 the going rate? I tried another barber, an 'old school' guy with his own shop and dude was going so hard with that buzzer like he was shaving my neurons. My dome was super red after that.

Anyway, any thoughts would be appreciated.
