What’s your go to restaurant to give visiting family a “damn Houston food is good” meal?

Family loves fish, comfort food, soul food and anything well seasoned but not overly spicy, salty, oily.

I used to take people to Turkey Leg Hut. I know it’s not the best example of Houston but it was sort of an out of towners landmark for quite some time.

I’d like to do better. Everyone is in their 40s & 50s. Any price range is appreciated. Casual dining is preferred over a super formal/ uptight venue. Most importantly the food and ambiance should be excellent. Where do I take them?
